Monitoring Drives the Process
Sound exposure monitoring is a valuable component of an effective hearing conservation or hearing loss prevention program. As the foundation of the program, monitoring is the primary method for determining the nature and degree of sound exposure risk for groups of workers (similar exposure groups) and for individual workers. It is also a means to track the progress of the noise control program. Occupational noise exposure measurement is covered in ANSI S12.19-1996 (R2006).
